Volterra
More than 2,000 years ago, Volterra was an important Etruscan city. Encircled with grand walls and topped with an impressive fortress, it was a beautiful place to explore.

We came prepared for boredom. The kids had backpacks full of drawing supplies and they came in very handy during "wait" times. Unfortunately, we lost the bag on the second to last day and won't get to enjoy all the wonderful art they created but we were so glad to have it for as long as we did!
Quaint shops and restaurants lined the narrow streets.
Every town had churches and piazzas.
Mom and Dad appreciated the churches more than the little ones, but we all loved the piazzas!
