Homecoming 2013

Woohoo!  Look at that girl block!  Drew says we should start calling her "Super Block!"
All I know is that, despite a disappointing loss, Ramie played her best games today!
Go Mustangs!

After the game, our beautiful girl got to attend her first dance.
It was so nice to be able to drop her off at the Club and watch her be welcomed by all her friends.  No one really had "dates," they just all danced together and had a wonderful time.  This is the part of living on base and participating in small town life that I love.
I will say, though, that her Daddy almost cried when he saw how grown up she looked all dressed up!

Another Teenager in the House!

Our Drewby is 13!

We spent the day at a wonderful dairy in Yorkshire, eating lunch and playing in a barn filled with hay, ropes and slides.

After making him an incredible triple chocolate ice cream cake, we had to use the only candle in the house we could find...a yankee candle!
They won't pack candles when you move overseas and I forgot to buy some!  His party isn't until Saturday, so at least he will have candles to blow out then! LOL!

Walsingham

Our Lady of Walsingham is the only Marian shrine in England.  Our Lady appeared and requested that a chapel be built in honor of the Annunciation.  It was built in 1061, destroyed by King Henry XIII and then rebuilt in the late 1800's.  I was able to attend a women's retreat there this weekend and had a wonderful time of reflection and fellowship.

Bolton Castle

We decided to take a break from the unpacking and celebrate Jody's early return home from his TDY in the states today(due to the government shutdown.)  Bolton Castle was having a reinactment of 15th century castle life and we had a blast learning about life in a medieval castle!  It was only an hour away and on the way there we discovered a dairy with an ice cream shop and on the way home we discovered another Abbey - Jervaulx Abbey.  One of the benefits of living here is having hundreds of years of history right around the corner!

2025 The First Six Months

This year was to be a year of rejoicing (my chosen "word of the year") and so far, it has exceeded our expectations! We have had ...
