Joseph plays Varsity!

Thursday night Joseph came home from practice and said "I have exciting news...I get to dress varsity this week!" After we all cheered, he assured us he wouldn't play, just take space up on the bench....so, since it was raining, I stayed home with the three little ones. When the rest walked in and said "Joseph played!" I didn't believe them. Their team won 47 to 0 and everyone got to play. Joseph was in the last two plays of the game, and even Em, Ramie and Drew missed it because they went to the bathroom! Fortunately, Jody was a witness and said he did great! Here are a few pics, Joseph is 81. The pic of Drew shirtless is

because he was so soaked he stripped in the van.

Gracie other wise known as Hannah Montana!

Uncle Scott (Gracie's uncle and godfather) sent her a huge package today...guess what was in it!

Cougar Crawl

The kids school had their annual "Cougar Crawl" on Friday. It is a 1 mile fun walk and spirit day for the kids. Boo Boo made an appearance along with the high school cheerleaders, the "cougar" mascot and a DJ. We had a blast dancing and picnicing!

Party Time!

Gracie had a rockin' Hannah Montannah birthday party today to celebrate turning 5! Friday she brought cupcakes to her class and Saturday she started her day with breakfast in bed, had a Chuck E. Cheese lunch with her family and then a blast of a party with 5 of her friends from kindergarten. Emily helped me make the guitar cake and Ramie supervised the dance party. Thanks to all of you who mailed her gifts, she was so thrilled to get mail! As you can see from the pictures, she is a big girl now!

Maggie and Charlie

I took some pics of Maggie and Charlie the other day in an effort to get one good enough to blow up and put on the wall. I was pretty happy with them so I thought I would let you see them!

We had a lazy, rainy day today. We eventually got tired of lazing around and got the ping pong table out and played some pong.

First Day School!

First Day of School!

Everyone but Emily started school this week! She will be homeschooling 8th grade and then probably off to high school so I am going to be spending the year making sure she is ready.Joseph had a pretty easy first day. He already knew the school and grounds from the last two months of football practice. He is taking some pretty hard classes but seems to like it so far. There is no pic of him because, well...he is fifteen, would you want your mom taking a picture of you on your first day of tenth grade? Also, he has to get on the bus at 645 and I was still in my jammies when he left, lucky for him! Anyway, I did get a pic of him in his jersey today. He is on the JV team and had to wear it because it is game dayRamie and Drew go to 4th and 2nd and both seem to really like it. They want to ride the bus even though the school is a beautiful 1/2 mile walk away. The pic of Jody pushing the stroller is the trail we take to the school. Ramie has a "guy" teacher and says he is the best and Drew has already made some friends so he is a happy boy.Gracie is in half day kindergarten and rides the "big" bus at noon all by herself to go to school. I was afraid she wouldn't go on the first day because she didn't enjoy the "meet your teacher" orientation and bus ride (I had to ride with her)but on the first day she got on that bus and didn't even look back! She also said she had a great time and only went to time-out ONCE! hmmm, I hope Gracie's teacher is having as good a time as Gracie...Maggie is beside herself because she can't ride the bus. She puts on her Dora the Explorer backpack and we walk Gracie to the bus stop and then wave frantically when the bus pulls away. She really wants to ride a bus, but she would like it to be pink!Charlie is still the best baby. Eating some food with his sharp little teeth and generally being adored by the rest of us 24/7 -which is exactly how it should be.

2025 The First Six Months

This year was to be a year of rejoicing (my chosen "word of the year") and so far, it has exceeded our expectations! We have had ...
