Jody's on his way to Iraq and the rest of us here are trying to keep our chins up. We have been blessed, thanks to the snowstorms, with more time then we thought we would have together and it has been wonderful! During Ash Wednesday Mass, Jody and I looked at each other and were thinking the same thing. God has brought us into this deployment so gently, giving us so much time with each other and the kids and then to have his day of departure be the same day we are asked to sacrifice in rememberance of Jesus' sacrifice? This time of preparation for Easter will be a time of preparation for our year ahead as well. A time to focus on our spiritual life and form ourselves for the journey ahead. We both see so clearly God's hand in the direction our lives are taking, now to prepare ourselves to live out what we know to be true! To try and live joyfully and fully our vocations while living seperately. It will be a challenge and a long, hard road but the benefits will be worth it...kind of like life, right?
Keep us and all deployed military members and their families in your prayers as you prepare for the joy of Easter!
