Advent is upon us and as I begin reflecting on the past year and all the blessings we have celebrated, I realize that I am waaaay overdue on a blog post!
I don't blog much any more.
What started as a way to keep family updated and in the loop of our day to day as we traveled the world (before Facebook...remember those days?) has become a photographic journal for me.
It is a wonderful way for me to look back and count, and recount! all the many milestones that our family has passed, and to pause and give thanks for each and every moment that we have had and continue to have with each other.
Advent is a time of waiting and anticipating.
Preparing.
Preparing our hearts, and once again, trying to re establish our priorities and began anew to live each day in anticipation of Christ's coming.
Because that is how we should live everyday, isn't it?
In joyful thanksgiving for the gift that we received in Jesus, and in reverent appreciation of the gift of His presence everyday in every life we touch.
The circumstances of our every day lives can sometimes make it difficult to be "joyfully thankful," every single day.
It can be hard to see beyond the monotony or the struggle.
But God started salvation for the world in the most unlikely, difficult circumstances.
He can make ALL things work together for the good of those who love Him.
My advent will be spent giving thanks - even for the struggles - and preparing my heart to celebrate Christmas with childlike joy and wonder

This advent will be especially memorable for us because we have a new baby in the family! AND ALL SEVEN OF MY CHILDREN WILL BE HOME!!!

Our first grandchild, Elizabeth Kaough Moore was born July 27, and we are all so in love!

This advent will also be spent puppy proofing our Christmas decorations and tree! Pepper joined our family in August and has proven herself to be a sweet, smart addition to our craziness!
