Memorial Day Weekend

We had to goodbye to our good friends the Robertsons as they head off to England for two years, but it was an otherwise very fun weekend...except we miss Emily terribly, of course! She is still vacationing in LA with her grandparents. The kids loved playing in the pool and with all the guns...Maggie declared that she was no longer a mermaid, she is a Warrior! (or gun man, whichever you prefer...)

Williamsburg

The younger kids and I headed south to visit friends and see Williamsburg for Memorial Day weekend. Jody and Joseph stayed home for lifeguard training and then met us on Sunday for the rest of the weekend. Here are some pics of the girls, Sarah and I at Williamsburg. The horses and putting their feet in the water were the highlights of the day for them!

Birthday Fishing

Since we had so many friends and family in town for First Communion, we celebrated Joseph's 16th birthday a little early. He and all the guys (plus Sarah, who took pictures) went on a fishing trip for rockfish. As you can see, it was a very successful outing. They all had a blast! I still can't believe I have a sixteen year old!

Drew's First Communion

What a special day it was! Our dear friend Fr. Stan, who is Charlie's godfather, was able to fly in and serve at Mass. He was even able to give Drew his first Holy Eucharist! His NeeNee and Paw Pee were here, as was his godmother Sarah. Sarah, who complained that we had taken all the "good" gifts already (Bible, rosary, etc.) ended up giving the coolest gifts...She wrote all the verses in the Bible having to do with Saint Andrew on seperate cards, included a personal prayer from her and had a corresponding gift attached! It was so incredible...for example, Andrew became a fisher of men...and this was attached to a fishing pole, swim goggles accompanied the verse relating to seeing clearly, etc. We all had fun watching him open all the various, surprising gifts! We had a huge taco buffet when we got home, as Drew requested, then dove into the beautiful cake that Emily made. It was a wonderful day and I wish all of our family could have attended but I know you were here in spirit. Here are a few pics.
